Must haves for a newborn!

Photo from our gender reveal party

I currently have baby fever so when someone announces they are pregnant it excites me. Anyways... I love talking about things we used for Caleb that really worked for us. This blog is going to be about my recommendations and my must haves for Newborns through about 6 months.

From our baby shower

Let's jump in! So the first thing that I could not do without was my breast pump, Caleb was in the nicu for the first week so I depended on my breast pump and having trouble with latching I got good use of it after we were released from the hospital and months after.

This is the Medela Pump in Style Advanced Breast Pump with On the Go Tote
I loved the size of the bag and the ease of traveling with it. I was able to use it also as a diaper bag. I Ended up using these bottles as storage and not actual feeding bottles. Make sure to look into your health insurance, you could get your pump or free or discounted!

With the trouble of nursing and finding the right fit of the flanges for the breast pump this Cream was a life saver! A little goes a long way too.
Lansinoh Hpa Lanolin for Breastfeeding Mothers, 1.41 Ounce (Pack of 2)

As I was mentioning before regarding the Medela Bottles, during one of my many visits to the lactation specialist, I expressed my concern regarding Caleb drinking so fast and having trouble drinking due to the flow of the nipple. She recommended we try Dr. Brown's  bottles. We used Preemie Nipples instead of the 0+  and it helped so much.

We love our Graco Fastaction Fold Sport Click Connect Travel System we are still using it too! Only thing is the stroller does take up a decent amount of space. On the plus side is this bundle doesn't break the bank!

I highly recommend getting a car seat canopy, keeps them from getting wet and protects them from the wind. This one I had a coupon for a free one. You do pay extra for the embroidery and you pay shipping.

There are so many infant bath tubs out, this 4Moms Infant Tub fit perfect in our kitchen sink. You always have clean water and know what the temperature is. Caleb was very small so we did use a infant bath sponge under him to prevent him from falling to the side. We were able to use this until he was about 6 months or so. (Saving this for our next baby)

We choose to use pacifiers with Caleb. The pros seemed to out way the cons.
We tried a few different brands and to this day MAM Pacifiers are his favorite. We prefer the air ones because they are great for sensitive skin.

Out of all the swaddling blankets we have these are our favorite! They are the Aden + Anais Muslin Swaddle blankets. You can use them for of course swaddling,  as a car seat cover, burp cloth, etc. The benefit of these blankets is that they are soft, breathable and so gentle.

Next product we will be saving for our next baby is the 4moms mamaRoo. You have 5 different movements as well as speeds. There is 4 sounds and a MP3-player compatible. It also is bluetooth controlled. Now I know it sounds crazy about the bluetooth but with me it came in handy while breast pumping.

Another product we will be keeping for our next little one is the Summer Infant video monitor system. No complaints on this! Inexpensive and easy to use.

Fisher-Price Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat with Tray is another must! Has the perfect amount of support for those little ones learning how to sit up. It folds up making it easy to travel with and store. This one also came with a tray which was great! Caleb loved it and we used it through about 6 months id say and then really started using the high chair.

You'll definitely want to get is a carrier, this one is
from BABYBJORN and we really enjoyed it!

Some other items make sure to have on your list is plenty of diapers,, wipes, a play mat, a Boppy Pillow,  I really like the Boppy Newborn Lounger Caleb still loves it! Stay tuned for another must haves blog for my recommendations for 6-12 months!
